Alex Farrar - Saxophone

Like the pulse of a hard techno beat, Alex Farrar’s music crackles with electric energy. A classically trained saxophonist from Indiana University’s renowned Jacobs School of Music, where he studied under Dr. Otis Murphy, Alex stepped away from the classical world in 2023 to forge his own creative path—one that blurs the lines between jazz and electronic music.

Describing his sound as “a fusion of jazz harmony and structure with the immersive sound design and driving grooves of EDM,” Alex crafts music that brings together the joy of dance with the depth of improvisational storytelling. Listeners have called his work “beautiful and catchy in the best way,” offering both moments of surprise and a sense of refuge.

Born in 2001, Alex is a proud member of Gen Z and uses his music as a platform to voice his generation’s concerns. Through his compositions, he shines a light on pressing global issues such as climate change, consumerism, and modern colonialism. His latest singles, War Crimes and In the Wake, channel his deepest emotions on these topics, while his debut EP, TMs & HMs, showcases a more playful side. All are available on streaming platforms.
